Bigger Bed

While at the hospital, Stella kept reminding me that her bed was bigger than mine. I'd have to agree! Mine definitely did not qualify for the "Most Comfortable Bed" contest, but I was just thankful I didn't have to sleep in an actual chair:

Remote

Charlotte usually comes into our room for a minute in the mornings while I finish getting ready for work. She sometimes plays with her toys and looks at books, but usually gets into something she shouldn't - the trash, the toilet, Andy's glasses, a water glass on the night stand, etc. One morning this week she found the tv remote. Usually she just plays with it or even brings it to me - like she's saying, "Look! I shouldn't have this!! Take it!!" I turned around and she was actually pointing it toward the tv like she was trying to turn it on. Then she kept looking at me confused because it wasn't doing anything.

Sleepy-heads

One of the disadvantages of being a working mom is waking my children every day. One of the advantages of being a working mom is waking my children every day. As much as I hate to disturb their sleep, I love to go in and see them sleeping and then watch them go through the wake-up process. Charlotte usually wakes up on her own or hears us with Stella, so it's rare I catch her sleeping. Stella is always dead to the world and it's a long process of getting her up and going which is why we start with her! Charlotte makes lots of crazy faces like shown above (that's not from the flash) and cracks me up. Stella usually just says, "I love my bed" over and over. Things will get really interesting August 1st when we move Charlotte into Stella's room.

Cutie

We already know that Stella is a cutie and full of personality, but check out Big-Girl Charlotte. Could she get any cuter??

Picnic Time

Last week we were able to have dinner outside almost every night. I tried to just hold Charlotte in my lap. However, she was having none of that! She wanted to be right at the picnic table with her big sis. (She calls Stella "sissy" instead of "Stella".) This week it's been a bit too humid and rainy.

4th of July Parade

Our neighborhood has a 4th of July parade every year. It's for the kids to decorate their bikes and wagons and walk their dogs. A firetruck leads the event. This year Andy and Stella were in Louisville so Charlotte and I headed to the parade with our neighbors. It was at 1:00 on a 90 degree day! Charlotte had fun with her spray bottle in the wagon. The parade ends in a cul-de-sac with popsicles and this year the firetruck sprayed its hose like a sprinkler for the kids. Charlotte was hesitant at first. But once most of the kids had cleared out she couldn't get enough of the water! She came home soaked and exhausted...just in time for a late nap.

Touch a Truck

Here are some photos from the West Chester Touch a Truck event we took Stella to on her birthday. It was a lot of fun.

Princess Shoes

Stella has been borrowing a pair of Belle dress up shoes from Josie for quite some time now. So for her birthday Betsy helped me get a pair of Belle shoes from Eastgate and then actually gave them to Stella from Matthew and Nicholas. She was thrilled to finally have her own pair! Then at my mom's she got four MORE pairs of the other princesses - Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella and Ariel - from my mom. If you look closely, it actually took her breath away and she struck her heart with her hand. It was hilarious! And, yes, she wears all of them around the house now constantly. She loves them, but they are a HUGE frustration to Charlotte. Frustrating because there is actually always a pair available for her to try, but she can't quite figure out how to walk in them!

Double Trouble

We also celebrated Stella and Adam's 3rd birthday at my mom's last Saturday. Not easy getting two toddlers to look at the camera at the same time. In the second picture (which is probably the 20th I took) Adam is over it! And in the third, I think Adam thinks that Stella is going to eat his cake because she eyed his after hers was gone!

Birthday Girl

Stella had a great 3rd birthday! Andy and I took the day off of work. We did take Charlotte to daycare for the day. Stella woke up to a butterfly balloon tied to her chair at the kitchen table and 3 presents from mommy and daddy - a water table, a broom (requested) and a Dora cup (requested). Then we took her to the West Chester Touch a Truck event - lots of firetrucks, ambulances, street sweepers, motorcycles, army vehicles, etc. for kids to look at, climb in and play on...lots of fun! Then we got her a McD's happy meal and headed to "Toy Story 3". We picked up Charlotte and that evening we had some friends over for pizza and cupcakes. A great day! One Year Ago:
