Last night Andy helped entertain the girls while I fixed dinner. It's so nice when he can make it home before dinner is on the table. He brought out the play jewelry and they loved it (it had been put away for awhile since Charlotte had been trying to eat it all). Although I think Andy over-accessorized them a bit!

Yard Helpers
The girls "helped" me in the yard on Sunday afternoon. Stella was very upset because I was sweeping the walkway and her only option was to rake. So now whenever I ask her what she wants for her upcoming birthday she replies, "A broom". Poor kid.

Vacation Withdrawal
Andy and I were in the kitchen Sunday morning and the girls got very quiet...which is never a good sign. He went hunting for them and then quickly shouted for me to come see what they were up to. The photos below are what I walked into...they had found the beach toys and were playing in the front living room just like they were still at the ocean. I guess they did have a good time on vacation.

Time to Accessorize
Blogger is not being nice today and keeps turning the one picture of Charlotte sideways. Anyway, this past week she keeps bringing me hairbows, headbands, etc. when I am doing Stella's hair and pointing to her own head. So she wants to be just like her big sister and accessorize. She's keeping them in longer than I thought she would too!

Mother's Day Zoo Trip
We spent the chilly morning yesterday at the zoo with the girls. We bundled up and got there early to beat the crowds. The girls enjoyed it as usual although Charlotte did not enjoy being contained to the wagon at times. We got to ride the train so Stella was thrilled. The nice thing was that most of the animals were out and active due to the cooler weather.

Carmax
It's official. The minivan is parked in the garage to stay. Just a quick blog post to say that Andy and I are still fans of Carmax. If you've never lived in a city with a Carmax, be sure to at least check out their website the next time you purchase a vehicle. We bought the Mitsubishi there when we lived in Nashville and always refer to their site during a vehicle purchase. For those of you unaware, Carmax basically is a used car superstore (some locations sell new vehicles as well). And the sticker price is the only price - there is no negotiating involved. Plus they are really fair about giving you a good trade-in price. We actually got more for the Camry than we were hoping. There is a Carmax opening in Cincinnati either later this year or early next year (it's the empty car lot across from Bass Pro that you can see from I-275). So we hadn't really used one while we've been back. We did use the website to bargain for our Pathfinder...the guy at the dealership said my offer was unreasonable and I'd never find a Pathfinder for that price. So I whipped out the online posting of a Pathfinder in Louisville that we were willing to go get if the local dealership didn't work with us. And sure enough the local guy changed his mind...and we wonder why people HATE dealerships?? So, anyway, we found the Sienna on their site a couple of weeks ago, but it was originally in Oklahoma. It took a little over a week to get it transferred to Indy. And yesterday we went and got it! Everyone at the dealership was great.Friday, May 7, 2010
The Journey of Never Say Never
I always said that I would never drive a minivan...God willing. Well, with having 3 kids 3 years old and under this fall...the minivan was somewhat inevitable. Especially if I wanted something that would fit in the garage, not have the kids banging doors, and not guzzle gas like an extra large SUV. So, tonight I'm cleaning out the Camry (pictures above). It's a sad evening. If all things go smoothly, tomorrow afternoon I'll join that club I never thought I would...minivan mom. Boo-hoo! I think I'm more upset that I'm not going to be able to deny that I will probably LOVE the new vehicle.
