Pregnancy Advantages

Yep...I park in these spots. However, not because I'm lazy. Remember, I'm the one on the treadmill at 5 AM most days. But when it's 30 degrees, the holiday season, AND you're toting an extra 15 lbs, an 18 month old, and shopping bags...this is easier than parking further away and hauling out the stroller. I am thankful for these spots.

Super Stella

Stella and Andy were having fun in the kitchen this morning. He made her "Super Stella" by giving her a cape. She thought it was HILARIOUS.

The Nap Mat

Stella graduated to a new room at daycare this week. She got to move up one month early! (Personally, we're thrilled because her rate FINALLY went down with this move.) Anyway, she no longer naps in a crib while she's there. She has a cute little cot and we had to supply a blanket. I found this nice cot mat online - nice because it comes with a pillow and blanket attached, it all rolls up and velcros shut so you can store it easily in her cubby, and the whole thing can be thrown in the wash. Since today was Friday we brought it home to do just that - throw it in the washer before Monday. I put it right into the laundry room, but Stella threw a fit. She wanted to show me how to use it. So we put it on the living room floor and she stayed like this for awhile. Then she repeated the whole thing when Andy got home. Glad she likes it!

Bath Night

Stella is practicing more and more with her spoon. You will see in the first video that tonight's dinner was quite messy...PB&J and yogurt. It was everywhere - in her hair, on the tray, down the front of her, etc. BUT it was bath night....and Daddy's turn to be in charge of the bath. Stella enjoys it more that way because he is a better bath-toy person. I accomplish the task and we're finished. Andy, on the other hand, plays with the boats, ducks, and all the squirt toys. You will see from the second video that Stella had a good time.

O Christmas Tree

We did go to a farm 5 minutes from our house this weekend to get our Christmas tree. It is set up in our front window. It does have lights on it. It does have garland. It does have a tree-topper...we use Santa's hat. It even has a few wrapped presents underneath. But it still looks quite naked. My goal is ornaments before Saturday. When Stella saw the lights she said, "Bubbles!!"

"Timber!"

This past weekend we had a couple of dead trees removed from the backyard. We had them quoted when we moved in, but decided to wait...$3000 for 2 trees?!!?!!? We also knew we were pressing our luck when the hurricane winds came through earlier this year...although the trees stayed in place, they looked even worse. On Sunday the tree guys were working on both houses on either side of us. They wanted to give us a quote. Andy tested them by asking which trees and they pointed out the same dangerous two (which would likely hit the house if they came down on their own time during a storm). At a third of the price, we had it done. Stella was in awe watching them work in the backyard - I just missed getting the picture while her jaw was dropped open. Below is a quick clip of one actually coming down. No, Stella was not still in front of the window when this occurred. I must say Andy was sad to watch his faint hope of purchasing a new flat screen tv in the near future get chainsawed away in the backyard...bye bye $$$$. I think his exact words were, "There goes my tv."

Sticky Situation

Stella loves post-it notes. She knows exactly where they are located in the kitchen desk drawer. And she knows exactly how to pull them apart one-by-one. When she's finished, I pile them all back up and put them right back in the drawer for next time. Last night she had them everywhere...including on herself.
