Go X! Revisited

Sorry, no picture today. But a good story. Yesterday when we got home from daycare it was raining. We came in the house and Stella asked for "Mickey Mouse?" I did not want her in front of the tv so I said "No, Mickey is taking a nap." So then she looked at me and asks "Watch Go X?" meaning XU b-ball. I told her that XU wasn't on. Then she starts yelling "Watch Go X! Watch Go X!" Since I had to feed Charlotte and get dinner going, I asked her, "Can mommy watch the news?" because sometimes she just seems to need the tv on as background noise and quickly ignores it as she starts doing puzzles, coloring, etc. The answer replied, "Mommy no watch news. Watch Go X!" At this point, I did turn on the tv and started surfing the sports channels praying for any b-ball to be on because I really didn't want to deal with a meltdown. No basketball to be found...BUT one football game and one baseball game. I asked her if baseball would be ok..."YES! Watch baseball!" Seriously, she sat and watched baseball in her little chair. AND on the commercials, she asked for football. I have NO IDEA what got into her. Andy was very proud when he got home thirty minutes later and she was still into the baseball and football games.

Daddy's Hat

The hat is completely over her eyes in the photo below:
Tonight Stella played with Andy's hat for about 30 minutes. She was cracking herself up. Those of you that are around her quite often know that she already has trouble running into walls WITHOUT wearing a hat...imagine what tonight was like as she insisted on wearing it over her eyes to take her baby doll on a walk. She wanted to take it to bed, but we wouldn't let her. I had to hide it in her room while she was distracted!

Baby Bunnies

The neighbor kid came across a nest of bunnies in our front yard Thursday afternoon while mowing the lawn (he did NOT hit any). There were 3-4 baby bunnies that we saw. They escaped and hopped all over the yard & driveway. We tried to catch them and put them back...but they were too fast. A couple of nights later, I saw the momma bunny sitting alone near the nest. I hope she was "on-guard" and not crying for her abducted/run-away babies.

Happy Mother's Day!

Stella made this for me for Mother's Day. It was even on a canvas! The butterfly's wings are her handprints. She apparently picked out all of the colors on her own as well. I also got a laminated bookmark with our picture on it and another piece of laminated artwork with a photo and handprint. Good Job Daycare teachers! Happy Mother's Day!

GOTR 5K

Although it was extremely windy, an early morning for a weekend, and we had BOTH girls with us...Andy and I still enjoyed volunteering at the GOTR Spring 5K this morning. Stella even had a matching GOTR shirt! I worked the donations booth and Andy led the race on his bicycle (shown above).

Baby Toys

Stella is enjoying all of Charlotte's baby equipment and toys as we bring them up from the storage bins in the basement. Surprisingly, Stella is willing to share most of these items and does call them "Charlotte's". Today I put Charlotte in the Bumbo seat (shown in first 3 pictures) and Stella immediately said, "Put Charlotte down - mat!" Last week Stella wanted Charlotte in the swing and NOT on the playmat. So I guess next week when the newness of the Bumbo wears off, Charlotte will be "allowed" to sit in it. Sadly, Stella is still small enough to get herself in and out of it - as you can see!! She thought that was very funny. OH! And Charlotte did LOVE sitting in it...she just wasn't in it long enough for me to get a picture...yet.
