Preparing for Baby #2 is fun, but WORK. The nursery will remain the same, so that's the easy part. Hard part = we already have a kid in there that we have to move. Harder part = Stella's new room is NOT ready. We want Stella in the bigger bedroom on the back of the house, used to be the guest room. We spent Labor Day weekend moving everything out of the 4th bedroom (the "office" that never was an office), into the basement since it was basically being used as a storage room anyway. Once emptied, we painted and furnished a NEW guest room. It is now complete and I actually was going to take pictures today, but the camera battery died. So those will be posted soon. If you're really anxious, head to your closest IKEA...we lifted an entire room straight out of there.
So next will come Stella's new bedroom. Still decisions to make about the decor. Baby #2 will probably move in with her in a couple of years due to the room's size (I see bunk beds in the future), and since we're not finding out the sex (sorry to disappoint!) we want it to be neutral.
Cleaning out everything gave us a huge pile of stuff to get rid of. So we joined the crazy Garage Sale people last week and participated in our Neighborhood's annual Garage Sale. We got rid of the big stuff (yippee) and made some pretty good money. Not a bad first experience. Unfortunately, I spent most of the makings at a Mommy Exchange Sale on Stella's fall/winter wardrobe and on a slide at a neighbor's Garage Sale around the corner! Money comes and money goes!!!
