She's not actually reading this time, but loves to pretend to be like daddy:

Cute! I have a picture of me around this age reading my Dad's math textbooks. He was a math teacher then, and I'd sit there with a calculator and "read" the book and calculate away. I felt so grown up.
Oh, and just wait until she CAN read the newspaper. It's pretty much all negative news and tragic sensational stories, so we have to make sure the newspapers are out away while at Grandma's house. Learned that the hard way. And, I've made sure my CNN and BBC newsfeeds don't go to my initial homepage anymore. This was after I hear from behind my shoulder one morning as I'm navigating to some webpage from my google homepage: "Mom, what's kidnapping? And I thought pirates were fiction. Are they really real?". Gulp. Time to hide that kind of news. Didn't quite expect this to happen so early.
General warning...we are parents. Parents to children we adore. Parents to children that are the center of our attention. This means that most of the blogging will be about the children. Grandparents and aunts and uncles generally love this stuff...especially if they are out of town. Friends with children put up with it in order to have playdates (adult-only and children included) regularly. Others are often annoyed. You were warned.

Great pic!
Make that "put away" not "out away". Darn iPad typing. Not good for spelling sticklers like me.
